History of NoHu ISFF

The NoHu International Short Film Festival was founded in 2008 as the NoHu Short Film Festival by James & Toni Fakuda with the assistance of Commissioner Lucio Fernandez. On it's first year the film screenings for the festival were held at St. John's Episcopal Church, with the awards ceremony held at Park Avenue Bar & Grill. In 2009 the Festival was held entirely at St. John's, and in 2010 it was moved to the Jose Marti Freshman Academy. In 2011 the festival, under the leadership of Commissioner Lucio Fernandez, found its permanent home at the William V. Musto Cultural Center. In 2011 the festival received a complete makeover including new logo and an elegant red caret treatment. In 2012 the festival was expanded to include a second venue, The Union City Performing Arts Center, and to a four day event. In 2013, the Festival grew to a five-day event and was entirely held at the William V. Musto Cultural Center.
